Potential earnings for teachers
The salaries teachers receive may be more that you would expect. The starting rates of pay are in line with other entry level pay schemes for other professions, then upon completion of work experience and showing signs of enhanced performance the salary rates for teachers can increase in conjunction with progression through the system.

Once qualified the salary can range from £20,000 to £37,000 per annum.
After then taking further training, the path progressed to an Advanced Skills Teacher or Leadership training, the salary opportunity runs from £37,000 to an average of 58,000.
The next step up will be the Deputy Head and Head Teachers, with the latter being able to warrant a salary of up to £100,000.
There are regional fluctuations, with London based positions ranked slightly higher, and are around £6,000 higher when teaching in Inner London, then £2,000 drops when moving out to Outer London, then again for London fringes and finally they plateau out across the remaining regions of England and Wales.
